GBBN Gingerbread House Design Takes Top Honors

For the second year in a row, GBBN has participated in the Gingerbread House Design Contest. This year the team of Juliette Bezold, Aaron Kingsley, Jeanne Mam-Luft, Marcie Kinney and Chris Yoakum were honored with the ‘ Most Original Design’ award. This year’s theme was Children's Holiday Storybooks. Our creative bakers selected a picture book featuring various Japanese holiday celebrations.

In addition to the baking fun, this year's event benefitted the Ronald McDonald House, a 'home away from home' for families of children undergoing medical treatment in Cincinnati, and a valued GBBN client.

“I’ll take any opportunity to make a huge sticky mess in the name of charity,” said Juliette. “In all seriousness, I’m grateful to have this opportunity to combine my love of baking and my passion to design, to brighten the holidays for children at the Ronald McDonald House.”

Chris echoed Juliette’s sentiment for feeling good about helping such a great organization. “Knowing that this was for sick children made it very difficult to know when it was ‘good enough’ - it’s never good enough,” said Chris. “Wait till you see what we do next year!”
