Kimberly D. Patton, AIA, firm principal and director of business development, has been elected to the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Patton has been an integral part in the growth of GBBN's Asia office and expanding book of business. He spends approximately 20-24 weeks a year in Beijing cultivating and strengthening business relationships with existing and potential GBBN clients.
In addition to sales and marketing, Patton has been working on the operational side of creating a business in China, as well as learning and understanding the legal structure, business and tax filings, facilities and employment of Chinese nationals.
"Since my first trip to China almost six years ago, I have watched our business grow and the number of US firms expand rapidly," said Patton. "I'm excited to collaborate with businesses in Greater Cincinnati that are strengthening their ties between Cincinnati and China."
As a member of the GCCCC Board, Patton will have the opportunity to meet and work with other business leaders looking to strengthen working relationships between the two world powers. "The world is getting very small, flat and connected in every way," said Patton.
The mission of the GCCCC and Ohio Chinese American Chamber of Commerce is to create and stimulate opportunities, benefits, cooperation and business development among members, corporations, government agencies by assisting, inspiring and engaging each other as it unifies and builds the regional economy and community.
"I am honored to be associated with such a great group of business professionals," said Patton. "Together we will work to promote US-China trade and cooperation and contribute to the economic development of both nations." He added, "GBBN intends to be a design firm that has a positive and long-standing impact on the Chinese economy."
