The Associated General Contractors of Kentucky recently honored GBBN's King's Daughters Medical Center Family Care Center project, located in Grayson (KY) with a "Build Kentucky Award for Excellence".
One of numerous projects for Ashland, Kentucky's King's Daughters Medical Center, this Medical Specialties Clinic serves as a focal point for healthcare in Grayson. The Family Care Center, Cardiology Clinic and Imaging Center provide state-of-the-art facilities for physicians and specialists in the Carter County area. The 24,000 square foot facility is designed for expansion to meet the needs of a growing community.
The clinic provides space for multiple physician practices and includes CT Scan, MRI, X-ray and Nuclear Medicine. Services are set in an environment that is warm and inviting to both patients and staff. This project is an example of a collaborative effort involving multiple owners: KDMC and Kentucky Christian University. The second floor is currently designed to accommodate the KCU School of Nursing.
"The Family Care Center at Grayson exemplifies what a collaborative effort can achieve" said project manager, David Humlong, AIA. "The design team worked very closely with two different owners and a dedicated construction team to produce a very nice looking, functional building that exceeded everyone's expectations." Humlong added, "It was a joy to be a part of a process that not only resulted in a successful building project, but just as important it built strong relationships that will carry forward."
The GBBN Design Team was made up of David Humlong, David Proffitt, Jeanette McCarthy, Darren Taylor, Greg Hosfield and Michael Neureither.
