Proffitt Appointed To UK Position

David R. Proffitt, AIA, CID, NCARB of the GBBN Lexington office, has been appointed the AIA KY Endowed Professor at the University of Kentucky, College of Design, School of Architecture.

With this selection, David will teach ARC 850 Professional Practice. In addition to teaching duties, the AIA KY Endowed Professor serves as an advocate for both the profession and the college, while seeking to strengthen the relationship between them. Developed in 2001, coincidentally when David was President of AIA KY, the position includes several other duties and tasks such as being a liaison with the KY Design Assistance Team for community based design initiatives. Another responsibility is developing a dialogue with professionals across the Commonwealth as it might relate to the College’s curriculum.

David is an Associate of GBBN, and has been a member of the GBBN Lexington team since 2004. He also serves as the National Secretary of the American Institute of Architects through 2008.
