The ever-popular Project Runway concept for showing off design styles and use of materials made a splash as part of the University of Cincinnati's International Interior Design Association (IIDA) fundraiser, with one of GBBN's own walking the catwalk.
Interior designer Cassidy Staver worked the runway in a dress entitled "Sway With Me" constructed out of wallcovering. Derived from the undulating wallcovering named "Sway", the dress portrays a drama of the feminine silhouette. The billowing pattern not only inspires the hourglass form, but also informs the construction technique of the voluminous skirt. The Latin-inspired, sultry colors pull together the entire ensemble to accentuate the dynamic form and movement captured in the feminine figure.
Fourteen entries representing team from Cincinnati design firms, DAAP students and material reps who constructed garments of ceramic tile, upholstery, furniture, etc., were a part of the program.
