NKU Norse Commons Wins Cincinnati Design Merit Award

Northern Kentucky University's Norse Commons takes home a Cincinnati Design Merit award at the 18th annual design event held at the Contemporary Arts Center. "It was an outstanding recognition for a project that has transformed a dining space on campus for a very modest budget", shared Principal in Charge, Marcie Kinney. The team looked for opportunities to help build tradition within NKU. One way was through the creation of a large 'NKU' interactive metal sculpture that allows students to hang postings and even coffee cups on it throughout the year. Another, was the dining "game room" that heightens the school's entree into Division I sports, making a great place for students to dine before campus sporting events.
