OSU Selects GBBN To Design New Womens Softball Stadium
The Ohio State University’s athletic programs are widely known for producing winning teams and settling for nothing less than the best. We’re proud to announce that OSU has awarded GBBN its first project on their main campus – a new women’s softball stadium.
GBBN Architects is providing full architectural services and is currently working on the finishing design touches of the brand new 1,500-seat, state-of-the-art, NCAA-Division I Women’s Softball facility scheduled for completion in time for Opening Day 2008
“This stadium is going to be one of the nicest softball playing facilities in Division I,” said Paul J. Leskovac, RA, project architect. “The athletic administration realized that a new facility was needed to meet the needs of both the team and its growing fan base.” The team finished the 2006 season with 39 wins and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
The new facility includes the following amenities:
- Player’s lounge, locker room, shower/dressing facilities
- Coach’s office and locker room
- Visitor’s locker room
- Umpire’s dressing area
- Recruiting lounge
- Press box
- Field house that will include indoor batting cages – 3 batting/pitching tunnels
GBBN is working with Korda Nemeth (structural/civil engineering) and Heapy Engineers (MEP).
