YUM! Center Opens To Rave Reviews
Usually this kind of excitement when it comes to college basketball is reserved for March. However, the level of enthusiasm among student-athletes, coaches and administrators was hard to measure at the recent official grand opening of the University of Louisville’s YUM Center!
In attendance for the festivities were YUM! Brands President David Novak, UL’s president, Frank Ramsey and athletic director, Tom Jurich, several student athletes, and of course men’s basketball head coach, Rick Pitino. Coach Pitino praised the vision of UL administrators in regards to the new facility designed by the collaborative efforts of 360 Design and GBBN Architects.
The 60,000 square-foot, $15.2 million, state-of-the-art practice facility houses separate locker rooms, meeting areas and coaches’ offices for volleyball, men’s basketball and women’s lacrosse, in addition to volleyball and men’s basketball practice courts.
