The Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati, which opened in February 2006 at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center, is the first consolidated fetal diagnosis and treatment center in the United States.
The Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati combines inpatient and outpatient components to cater to the needs of the mother and fetus in a dedicated center. It is advantageous to provide the care in one location as one of the primary goals is to provide as stress-free an experience for the mother as possible.
The Center has a dedicated entrance and reception desk to announce its separate identity as an adult oriented facility. The center house two inpatient rooms where patients can recuperate after surgery.
The outpatient component houses two Nesting Rooms for mothers, two Consultation Rooms, an Examination Room and an Ultrasound Room. The grouping of inpatient and outpatient functions together is ideal. It allows the specialized resources and equipment to be housed in one location.
