GBBN began this project by providing programming and master plan services.  Through the planning study, the  focus was on a strategic location for a new education building. The construction of this building will provide two avenues for the hospital’s growth. It will enable the hospital to offer new and expanded programs within the education building, and also free up space in the existing facility for expansion of existing hospital functions.

As the first step in the master plan, this building will also function as a funnel for staff and patients into the existing facility. Located on a site across the street from the main facility, it will provide much needed parking, and connect to the hospital via an elevated enclosed walkway.

The first floor of the new facility will contain a primary care clinic, outpatient diagnostics, as well as an open concourse to connect the levels.  The second floor will house new conference and education functions. This is a mix of large multipurpose rooms, an amphitheater style lecture hall and support spaces such as a catering kitchen and storage.  The third floor will contain education classrooms, a new medical library, as well as administrative office for programs.
