GBBN Architects (Architect of Record) is teamed with EHDD (Design Architect) to convert Sawyer Hall, an existing university dormitory, into a new suite style residence hall. Challenges include incorporating the renovated facility into the existing campus master plan while designing the latest in campus living.  The 450 bed conversion will entail a complete gut and renovation of the interior space, as well as a new exterior facade and will result in 2-4 bed suites.  Seeking to achieve LEED Silver status or higher, the project team has been aggressively incorporating sustainable elements while not compromising on design or functionality.

I wanted to compliment you folks on what a spectacular space.  It is just wonderful.  A lot of student activity here. The furnishings are working so well with the building.  It is a major home run. I think there is something here that GBBN can certainly be proud of.
