The existing 30 year old parking needed restoration. GBBN Architects teamed with Carl Walker Parking to develop a solution that was non-invasive to the existing post tensioned concrete structure and allowed for use during construction. The 300 car addition allowed for a seamless connection between the existing building and the new addition. The design challenge was to complement the architecture of the new nearby William T. Young Library. The use of brick, stone and pre-cast concrete panels created a unique yet traditional appearance for the fabric of the campus.
