GBBN’s relationship with Hamilton County started in the mid-1980’s as they began to consolidate a campus in the Downtown Cincinnati core.  Working with the Public Works and Facilities Departments, we have designed adaptive reuse and the historic preservation of the five primary building that serve administrative functions, court systems, and the majority of citizen services for all County Departments.

GBBN’s work on the Alms & Doepke renovation has been championed as one of the best early examples of Sustainable Design, turning what had been a ‘sick-building’ into an award winning historic preservation exterior.  The 800 Broadway Building and Hamilton County Courthouse have also received awards for Historic Preservation by the State of Ohio.

Working under an Architectural Partner term contract, our team continues to serve the Hamilton County Facilities Department supporting their efforts of continuous improvement of sustainability measures, operations and maintenance that demonstrate a commitment to achieving high performance in their buildings.  GBBN’s support responsibilities include not only buildings in the City, but total almost 4,000,000sf across Hamilton County.
