A ‘home away from home' for families of children undergoing medical treatment, the facility offers free accommodations and builds community among families through the offering of spaces and programming.  Guest rooms offer efficiency and a variety of suite arrangements that are coordinated with the needs of the families.

Designed with a playfulness and residential scale on both the interior and exterior, the 32 guest room addition features a colorful and engaging finish palette that is easy to maintain and non-institutional.  Consistent with the principles of Evidenced Based Design for today’s healing environments, natural light was incorporated in all spaces.  A bridge between the addition and the original building creates a pedestrian entry off the street and a covered dining terrace, and a key convening space above that unites the buildings and the guests Other common areas include spaces for families, children’s play, and group wellness counseling.
