OSU’s Buckeye Stadium is an in-place replacement of a former aluminum grandstand style venue. Working with the existing playing field, stadium lighting and adjacent paving, the new stadium’s stands and other team and patron amenities fit on the tight site as if in place for seasons. Buckeye Stadium consolidates the entire softball team, coaching staff, practice facilities, and competition field in one venue. The new stadium includes a ticket booth, permanent and portable concession operations, umpire’s locker room, accessible press box and recruiting suite.

The 1400-seat pre-cast concrete stands include club and accessible seating positions, and elevated patios that overlook the competition field as well as public concourse. The sunken dugouts offer a very intimate connection between the fans and the playing surface, and the coaches have a protected field level box for direct connection to the field and elevated view into the dugout. The new stadium architecture is contributive to OSU’s Sports Campus district in scale and aesthetics.
