The Schuster Performing Arts Center occupies a full city block in the heart of Dayton and is comprised of three major components: Performing Arts Center, Winter Garden, and an Office/Residential Tower with below grade parking. The arts center includes a multi-purpose hall with rehearsal/performance rooms and support facilities. The ceiling soars upward in elliptical rings organized as telescoping cones. The 2,000 fiber-optic lights pay homage to the star-filled sky on the night of the Wright Brothers inaugural flight.
The Winter Garden is a glazed public atrium with a 45' tall palm tree courtyard. It serves as lobby for the performing arts facilities and condominiums, and as a forecourt for the restaurant and ticket space. Its glazing continues to wrap the facade, leading to a covered walkway over the street to adjacent parking facilities.
