The Christ Hospital / Montgomery Outpatient Center

Location: Montgomery, Ohio

Scope: Interior Fitout

MOB 1: 81,000 SF
Surgery 2: 20,000 SF (future project)

The success of the project is in the clarity to the patient arrival experience despite multiple entry points and departments. The solution creates a design that extends throughout the lobby unifying the entries and departments while enriching wayfinding. The space was further enhanced with the registration design dubbed "Nucleus."

The Nucleus design is a central registration area at each level that simplifies the patient’s access to registration while creating an efficient work flow for staff. The success of the Nucleus design is the modular component that allows future flexibility as alternate methods of registration are introduced.

The departmental design of the clinic maximizes daylighting for both the patient and staff. By situating the staff areas along the outside walls, employees have maximum access to views and patients are able to orient themselves by these glimpses to the outside. Lighting and accent colors are critical elements used for wayfinding reducing the need for interior signage.

The project is a celebration of a collaborative lead effort, which included the design team, site architects, developer, and client.
