Thoughtfully designing a medical office building on-top of a large parking garage and seamlessly connecting to a bustling urban hospital all while providing top patient and staff experience were the considerations evaluated by GBBN in creating the design of TriHealth Group Health’s medical office building on the Good Samaritan Hospital campus in Cincinnati. The design solution created a commanding presence establishing this structure as the flagship of the regional Group Health practice. Additionally, the first floor of the medical office building is connected to the sixth floor of the hospital, which easily encourages support the movement of patients and staff between the hospital and Medical Office Building.
On the interior, open and well-staffed reception desks and electronic kiosks afford rapid check-in and assists patients with any help that is needed to reduce stress and anxiety. Large, open waiting areas with spectacular city views and daylight in clinical areas provide access to nature and positive distractions. Inclusion of diagnostics, pharmacy, and other related retail services provide "one-stop shopping" for patients. In the clinical areas, standardized exam room design and arrangement permits flexibility in practice patterns and allow for the utilization of the team approach to provide patients more comprehensive care.
