Conservancy Park Dedicated

Recently the AIA Northern Kentucky Chapter held a Park Dedication for The Boone Conservancy and Boone County Parks and Recreation for the new Conservancy Park in Belleview (KY). The AIA NKY Chapter worked with the Conservancy and Boone County Parks for a few years to turn an abandoned gravel mine into a passive recreation park. The Chapter donated design time, money, and construction services (building a floating duck house & shelter house), among other items. At the dedication, Shawn Feigh (past president for AIA NKY Chapter) was honored with helping dedicate the new park by ceremonially planting a tree with Judge Executive Moore, Senator Schickel, Sherry Hempfling Executive Director of the Boone Conservancy.

On hand for the dedication of a boulder commemorating the shelterhouse event was Jack Gartner, Joe Schwab (AIA Kentucky Treasurer), Ray Mack (President-Elect AIA NKY Chapter & AIA Kentucky Board Member), Wayne Meyer, and Shawn Feigh (Past President AIA NKY & AIA Kentucky Board)
