Gateway Station Wins AIA Pennsylvania Award
The Gateway Light Rail Station was recently recognized with a 2014 AIA Pennsylvania Award. The project is an innovative alternative to a solid-wall headhouse and a station sunken below the street. The new headhouse is built of transparent materials allowing uninterrupted views from, into and through the site, providing a "gateway" experience for arriving transit passengers without causing visibility issues for adjacent properties.
The award will be presented to the design team at the AIA Pennsylvania Awards Ceremony on November 14. To learn more about the project, click here.
