The Color Building and Rothenberg Win Cincinnati Preservation Awards

The Color Building and Rothenberg Elementary were both selected as 2014 Cincinnati Preservation Award winners. The Annual awards are given to projects that represent preservation excellence in and around the Cincinnati community.

Rothenberg is newly restored, preserved and expanded. The school embodies anew a community commitment to the dignity of public education and its central role in a thriving urban neighborhood. It amply demonstrates the power and promise of preserving our architectural heritage for future generations.

The Cincinnati Color Building is one of the larger, grander, and more prominent buildings located in the center of the Over-the-Rhine Historic District, and its renovation was a key piece in the ongoing revitalization of the neighborhood. The project also included renovation of the rear garage space on 14th Street to house a future bar. The GBBN team worked closely with local and state historic preservation consultants in the documentation, review and award of Historic Tax Credits.
