A smart, sophisticated office renovation for a revolutionary auction company

Everything But the House (EBTH)—a first of its kind online marketplace for estate sales—needed new office space to accommodate their growth. EBTH’s leap, from scrappy startup to a full-grown company comprised of different departments with different needs, meant they needed help thinking about their office culture and space requirements in new ways. The open plan furniture system includes sliding, wood slatted doors to provide visual privacy when necessary, and private offices have full glass fronts, fostering the idea of team work and transparency. A centrally located café with large island is a casual place for employees to gather and eat, have a quick meeting, or enjoy a beer after a long day. A variety of environments accommodate different types of work, from heads-down enclosed huddle rooms, to open, casual living room style meeting spaces. A neutral design palette allows EBTH to rotate stock from auctions, highlighting the diversity of the clients, items, and cities they represent.
