GBBN Associate Principal Matt Plecity recently joined the Board of Directors of Tree Pittsburgh.

Guided by the vision that “a greener city will create more vital communities for generations to come,” Tree Pittsburgh works to protect and restore Pittsburgh’s urban forest through tree planting and care, education, advocacy, and land conservation.

Though Matt was familiar with the group before, he developed a deeper appreciation for the organization through GBBN’s work, designing Tree Pittsburgh’s new, net-zero energy headquarters on the banks of the Allegheny River.

“Over the course of our project with them, I saw their employees’ dedication to enhancing and preserving the region’s trees – and their passion is contagious,” Matt says. “I have always loved Tree Pittsburgh’s mission, but the people really drew me to the organization.”

Matt looks forward to working as an advocate for Tree Pittsburgh, and the trees and people the organization serves. “Their volunteers and the people who seek tree tendering education come from every part of the city, because they know trees will have a huge impact on the quality of life in their neighborhood.”

Congratulations, Matt!
