GBBN and its development partners won a host of recognitions at the NAIOP Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky’s “Night of Stars,” including “Design of the Year” for MEMI’s Andrew J Brady Music Center. The annual event celebrates excellence in commercial real estate development, honoring the developers, brokers, and transactions that are shaping the industry and the local community.

GBBN’s partners, Terrex Development and Construction and JLL won in the category of “Office Deal of the Year” for the Digital Futures Complex. Named for University of Cincinnati’s new, interdisciplinary research facility, Digital Futures, the complex will host UC’s most future-forward researchers alongside industry partners in an adjacent office building (Digital Futures 2). More development is also expected at the site. Read more about DF and DF2, here and here.

The Model Group won “Multi-Family Deal of the Year” for their multi-site, mixed-use, mixed-income development, Willkommen. Consisting of 16 historic renovations and 4 new, infill buildings, Willkommen represents the largest addition of affordable housing to Cincinnati’s Over-The-Rhine neighborhood in decades. Designing three of the four new buildings, GBBN used the opportunity to push what infill could do in a historic district. Read about GBBN’s portion of the design here.

Finally, “Design of the Year” went to the Andrew J Brady Music Center, which GBBN designed for Music & Event Management, Inc (MEMI). Designed to connect audiences to the exhilaration of live music, the Andrew J. Brady Music Center is transforming Cincinnati’s riverfront. Read more about it here.

“NAIOP’s Night of the Stars really showcased how many positive investments are growing our city and region, and we’re delighted to be a part of that,” says GBBN’s Director of Arts, Marcene Kinney. “Companies locate and relocate to where people love living, working, and playing, so the quality of our built environment bodes well for Cincinnati’s future economic growth.”
