GBBN Principal Amanda Markovic Promoted to Market Design Leader

GBBN is pleased to announce that Principal Amanda Markovic, AIA has been promoted to the position of Market Design Leader for Community Development. In this role, Amanda will lead design strategy for our community development market which includes affordable and multi-family housing, community libraries, and not-for-profit organizations. As a leader of our Pittsburgh office, Amanda brings considerable design expertise and project experience to her new role. Her passion for design has led to award-winning work with the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. Amanda’s passion for inclusive engagement has led to her leadership role in the American Institute of Architects Blueprint for Better (B4B) Communities initiative. Her dedication to craft and the environment advance our fabrication and Passive House design strategies. She is a frequent speaker on both the national and local level, most recently at the 2021 Getting to Net Zero Forum, a national conference dedicated to zero energy and zero carbon buildings.

Part of GBBN’s firmwide design leadership group, a Market Design Leader is responsible for ensuring that design strategies deployed in the market work in tandem with market goals, meeting business and firm objectives. As a Market Design Leader, Amanda recruits, develops, and mentors the design staff within her markets and works collaboratively with Firmwide Design Leadership to bring to life the design vision of the firm through the work of the markets.
