GBBN Associate, Sean Cottengim, AIA recently joined AIA Kentucky’s inaugural cohort for the Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program (CKLDP). Initially developed by AIA District of Columbia, CKLDP aims to nurture future generations of leaders in the profession. Taking place over the course of eight half-day sessions, participants take turns leading sessions on topics ranging from entrepreneurship, industry trends, firm management, community engagement, and other pressing professional issues.

Sean hopes to explore questions of equity and environment during the course, while using the opportunity to better connect to architects across the Commonwealth.

“Though I’m from Kentucky, I’m not as plugged into the state as a whole as I would like to be,” Sean says. “In order to be a better designer and to have a more positive impact on the communities in the Commonwealth, I need to build my network and learn more about the issues that others are facing across Kentucky – this program will be a great chance to do that.”
