A re-imagined entry greets patients on their journey to world class care.

To help reduce heart-related deaths in our community by 25% by the end of 2025, St. Elizabeth’s Heart & Vascular Institute takes a comprehensive approach to the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of heart and vascular disease. This addition and renovation fulfills a strategic goal to create a world class patient experience in a one-stop, multi-faceted center.

The predominantly glass and terracotta entry integrates the building’s exterior and interior, yet creates a distinct beacon—day or night— for arrivals. The entrance is framed by a new multi-story glass curtain wall addition and an inviting canopy for ease of patient access. The arrival also offers a first glimpse of the landscaped roof terrace, a serene spot for staff, patients, or visitors to take a break. Inside, people encounter a light-filled lobby with a variety of seating options, streamlined registration, and intuitive wayfinding.

The project also includes state of the art diagnostic and imaging equipment, including a hybrid OR, cardiac MRI, and specialty clinic space. A second electrophysiology room will be used to diagnose and treat electrical activities of the heart.
