GBBN’s Director of Research Named Co-Editor of HERD Journal
We’re delighted to announce that GBBN’s Director of Research, Shan Jiang, Ph.D. has been named Co-Editor of HERD: Health Environments Research & Design Journal, an international, peer reviewed journal that features research and methodology papers, theory articles, case studies, and book reviews that focus on the effects of health environments on patient, provider, and organizational outcomes.
Shan steps into this role having served for many years as a member of HERD’s Editorial Advisory Board. With this elevation, Shan will work closely with founding co-editor Kirk Hamilton of Texas A&M University as well as co-editors Ellen Taylor of The Center for Health Design and Debbie Gregory of Smith Seckman Reid. “I am grateful for the opportunity to represent researchers in professional practices and deepen our connection to The Center for Health Design and the healthcare design industry,” says Shan.
A seasoned researcher, educator, and thought leader, Shan has conducted and published a substantial body of research on the relationship between people and their environment, therapeutic landscapes, healthcare design, and sustainable community development. As GBBN’s Director of Research, Shan has led collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams to produce award-winning research studies around our work including a Touchstone Platinum Award from The Center for Health Design and multiple CORE Awards from EDRA.
