Amanda Markovic, our AIA Blueprint for Better Champion!

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Blueprint for Better is a new program that highlights the role of architects as thought and action leaders who help build thriving communities.

As a selected Blueprint for Better Champion, Amanda acts as a key liaison between the AIA National Blueprint for Better program and local government in Pittsburgh.

Champions were invited to attend the 2018 AIA State Government Network Conference in Madison, WI in July for special training on increasing architects’ engagement with their communities around pressing issues like climate change, housing, and public health. “We’re focusing on community outreach,” says Amanda, who attended July’s conference. “We want to arm our communities with information, so when development occurs in their area, they know the right questions to ask to get the kind of environments where they can thrive.”
