JCC Breaks Ground in Louisville

With community members joining in person and remotely, the Jewish Community Center of Louisville (JCC) officially broke ground on its new home. In a livestreamed ceremony, speakers looked toward the future while remembering the past.

“For over 130 years, the JCC has been a true community center, welcoming our entire community in and turning no one away,” said JCC president, Sara Klein Wagner in a news release. “Our new campus will provide a modern, open and accessible facility to gather in ways that have never been previously possible.”

Moving the JCC onto a different portion of its current site, GBBN’s design will not only enhance existing amenities, like an indoor pool, gym, and Early Childhood Education Center but, according to GBBN Principal Jason Groneck, “the design will reflect Jewish values and a welcoming spirit to everyone in the community.”
