TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital Looks to the Future

A hospital with 170 years of history, TriHealth Good Samaritan in Cincinnati, looked to the future as it broke ground on a five-year plan to transform its campus into one of the region’s most technologically advanced healthcare hubs.

With city leaders, community members, staff, administrators, and members of GBBN present at the event, TriHealth President and Chief Executive Officer, Mark C. Clement spoke.

“Today’s groundbreaking represents the next step forward in advancing TriHealth’s mission to provide patients and the community convenient, world-class healthcare at state-of-the-art facilities,” Clement said. “Our five-year plan will ensure Good Samaritan Hospital, which has served patients in and around Cincinnati for 170 years, will be equipped to provide patients with better care, better health, and better value for another century and beyond!”

Part of a longer-term Facilities Masterplan they are developing with GBBN, TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital’s five-year plan will see new surgery facilities, expanded outpatient services, and improved wayfinding throughout the campus. A future phase will also reposition the hospital’s main entrance from Clifton Avenue to the intersection of Dixmyth Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive.

GBBN Principal, Ivan Cheung, who is leading the Facilities Masterplan process attended the groundbreaking. “TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital’s current facilities have served the community well for a long time. We’re taking steps to ensure that they continue to do so,” Ivan said. “While improving efficiency and patient experience, the current work will open up the hospital, making it more welcoming in order to give proper expression to Good Sam’s humanistic approach to patient care.”
