We’re growing our design family by launching a new, Twin Cities office, located in the Grain Exchange in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

With the opening of this office, we’re bringing to the north our signature passion: To positively impact people through great design in healthcare, higher education, cultural institutions, community development, and space and facilities technology.

“We’ve been looking for the past couple of years for the right place to expand,” says GBBN CEO Matthew Schottelkotte. “There is a wealth of talent in and around the Twin Cities who share our drive to positively impact people by creating spaces where they thrive.”

Currently, there are five full-time employees; each one hired locally, having spent their careers working in Minneapolis and St. Paul. “There is a tremendous opportunity for growth in the area and we look forward to being a significant practice in the region,” says Schottelkotte.

The new office is part of our long-term plan for strategic growth. Thoughtful preparation and planning have made it possible to continue with this plan despite the current recession. “Just as we carefully manage our clients’ budgets, we’ve been managing our own budget to be able to make this investment now,” says GBBN’s Michael Grage, who is overseeing operations in the Minneapolis office.

“We saw an opportunity to add value to the region’s architectural landscape, says Michael Lied, GBBN principal and healthcare market director, “by bringing our passion for great design, research-based solutions, and a client-centered approach to the north.”
