Changchun Wins Architizer A+ Award

We’re delighted to share that our work on the Vanke Changchun Community Sports Complex has been recognized with a Special Mention for the Architizer A+ Awards.

Located in an old, industrial corridor, where a powerplant once stood, the Changchun Community Sports Complex is helping residents—old and new—reimagine life in a changing neighborhood. It’s striking sawtooth form, terracotta panels, and perforated panels create a series of semicylindrical vertical seams, recall the center’s industrial past. The transformed powerplant now houses basketball courts, rock climbing walls, a gym, coffee shop, and ample outdoor recreation amenities like an elevated track and playground.

The A+ Awards celebrates design excellence from the world’s best firms, highlighting the work of pioneering architects and designers as they strive to create architecture that stands the test of time.
