Otto M. Budig Theater receives design award

Home to the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, the Otto M. Budig Theater brings people and performers together in an intimate theater setting where all seats are less than 20 feet from the stage.

The creative use of corrugated metal panels on the exterior façade led the 2018 Metal Architecture Design Awards judges to give the Otto M. Budig Theater the winning nod in the Ribbed Metal Wall category. “I think it’s understated, yet has a timeless simplicity to it,” says Design Award Judge Brian Court, AIA, and partner at The Miller Hull Partnership LLP in Seattle. “It’s full of life and is hitting on its mission as a public arts and culture facility.”
