Arts Landing Cuts Ribbon

Ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, which drew hundreds of thousands of people to the city, Pittsburgh Cultural Trust cut the ribbon on its most transformational project: Arts Landing, a new civic amenity in downtown Pittsburgh. GBBN is proud to be part of the larger team behind the project through the adaptive reuse of two existing buildings on the site into Arts Landing’s new Visitor Center, which houses public restrooms and the park’s security operations. The Visitor Center includes display space inside and will support large hanging art displays on the exteriors of the buildings.

Arts Landing offers views of the Allegheny River and PNC Park and will welcome residents and visitors to enjoy festivals, events, performances, public art exhibits and everyday recreation and relaxation. Along with Pittsburgh’s first ever Downtown playground, Arts Landing includes public art and an amphitheater. The Visitor Center is scheduled to open this summer as Arts Landing becomes the new home of the Three River’s Arts Festival, also run by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.

“The new Arts Landing Visitor Center revitalizes two 100-year-old buildings in the Penn-Liberty Historic District into a much-needed public amenity,” says Chris Guignon, part of the GBBN design team working with Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. “The project anchors and supports one of Pittsburgh’s boldest civic space projects in decades.”
