GBBN Rocks the Runway

Kudos to our Product Runway team for sending their “Strong Suit” down the catwalk. Sponsored by the Cincinnati/Dayton Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), this year’s theme was “The Greatest Show on Earth.”  Looking to powerful female figures for inspiration, GBBN’s Julie Endres, Shannon Faith, Anne Schwab, and Mandy Woltjer set out to update the circus sideshow representation of male strength with a feminine twist. They traded singlets and barbells for mini blinds and drapery sheers (courtesy of Standard Textile) to create their garment.

“In addition to benefitting a great organization, Product Runway is a chance to make something outside of the digital world and collaborate with colleagues I haven’t worked with on projects before,” says Anne.

“It was a challenge to put together a garment without any sewing knowledge, but seeing our vision come to life was very rewarding,” says Julie. “Being a part of the IIDA world was a fun way to connect with other firms and be surrounded by people who share our passion.”

“I loved seeing the creative talents of my colleagues as we sought out inventive ways to transform window treatment,” add Mandy. “I’m still amazed that we figured this out without a stitch!”
