Breaking Ground for Senior Housing at Logan Commons

GBBN recently joined representatives from the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), the city, the state, and the community to celebrate the groundbreaking on Logan Commons.

Located next to Findlay Market and within walking distance of Washington Park, Logan Commons will provide 42 units of dedicated affordable housing for seniors in the heart of Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine.

“When we talk about ‘walkable cities,’” Ohio State Senator, Catherine Ingram observed at the ceremony, we have to ask, “walkable for whom.” By reserving space for seniors, Logan Commons strives to ensure that Cincinnati is walkable for everyone.

“The idea of connection is built into the structure of the design,” notes GBBN Associate, Stefan Cornelis, who is on the design team. “From its location (which gives easy access destinations around Over-the-Rhine) to a public-facing first floor to communal spaces that overlook Findlay Market on the floors above, Logan Commons will consistently take steps to connect the seniors who live there to the wider community.”

Logan Commons is expected to wrap up construction in late 2024.
